Get Ready to Vote!

Mailboxes and airwaves are clogged with election mailers, but is that really the information you and your students need to make decisions?

The Easy Voter Guide Project links you to non-partisan information about candidates and propositions from the League of Women Voters of California Education Fund.  Copies of the Easy Voter Guide are available in the SCC Library.

The California Secretary of State details candidates and ballot measures.Governing California book Can’t find a candidate you like?  The Secretary of State tells you how to run for office or qualify a ballot measure.

Project Vote Smart allows you to search candidate’s speeches, public statements, and voting records, in addition to their biographical information.

And of course the library has a book on it…

What are your recommended – or favorite – election resources?

Smart Voter from League of Women Voters is really great. I’ve also been enjoying Politifact–it’s not strictly focused on the election but political ads get in there a lot.
