LOIS, the library catalog, lists the books and media owned by all 5 libraries in the Los Rios District, as well as a shared collection of nearly 20,000 ebooks. That’s a couple of hundred thousand titles. You and your students can borrow nearly all of them (reference books and some media titles excluded).
Find a title in LOIS, note the location and status (outside SCC and Available), and hit the Request button. You can also use Request to reserve any book that is currently checked out, so you’ll get it later.
On the next screen, fill in your employee or student ID number and eservices password, choose a pickup location, and hit Submit. If your book is available at the owning library, it should arrive at the SCC Library Circulation Desk in 3 working days (and will be held for you for a week).
SCC students requested 321 books and media items from the ARC, CRC, FLC, and EDC libraries in November, 2010!
Library staff make every effort to buy the books your students need, but we also rely on sharing materials with other libraries in the District. See below for just a dozen of the 321 titles your students borrowed from other Los Rios libraries in November.
