Celebrate Your Library, April 10-16

Every year since 1958, National Library Week has celebrated the contributions of libraries throughout the United States. This year’s theme is, “Create your own story @ your library.” National Library Week began as a way to motivate people to read and support their local libraries.  It helps draw attention to the importance of libraries in our daily lives.

This year, the honorary chairman for National Library Week is best selling author John Grisham.  Listen to him discuss the importance of libraries.

Sponsored by the American Library Association, the celebration is observed from April 10-16, 2011. During this time, ask yourself how the Sacramento City College Library can build your life story. On the Tuesday April 12, 2011 take a moment to honor the tireless work of the librarians and staff on National Library Workers Day.  A simple thank you goes a long way!
