Summer will be here before you know it.  Are you among the thousands of students looking for a summer job?  I’m sure you are aware of the library reference books that have helped you with assignments in past semesters.  But did you know that the reference section contains over fifty books dealing with career searching (vocational guidance)?  There are books on career paths, majors that have the most job growth, resume and cover letter assistance, as well as colleges guides for students wishing to continue their education.

Reference books on education are on the shelves behind the reference desk in the “K” area, and books dealing with employment are in “H.”

Short on time?  Need a book you can take home?  Check out the Careers display across from the elevators on the 2nd floor for books on resumes, job hunting and career guidence.

And remember, if you need  assistance locating the right book, the reference librarians are happy to help.  Take a look at the Sacramento Public Library’s Colleges & Career web page for additional online resources.
