September 9, 2013

In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, a display of Civil War library books reveals little known facts about this formative document.  A binder located near the display prompts students to imagine what America would be like today if Lincoln had not been assassinated.  The display is located on the second floor of the library and is up through September.

Mild Weather Brings Insect Invasion!

March 12, 2013

In Massachusetts winter moth caterpillars are munching cranberry bogs months earlier than usual.  In Kansas, bumper crops of bean leaf and corn flea beetles anticipate snacking on soybeans and corn.   In Sacramento, monstrous metallic insects hatch in the lobby of the City College LRC.

What ARE they?  And What do they Want?
